About The Position

The Fishers Community Center is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and team-oriented Camp Counselors to support our Fall, Winter, and Spring Break Camps! Camp Counselors are essential to creating a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where campers can thrive. Under the guidance of the Camp Manager and Head Counselor, Camp Counselors help lead daily activities, supervise campers, and contribute to a positive and memorable camp experience. Break Camp Dates: Fall Break Camp: October 19 - 23, 2026 (training 10/17/26 10am-1pm) Winter Break Camp: December 21, 2026 � January 4, 2027 Spring Break Camp: April 2 - 9, 2027 Camp Counselors are not required to work all breaks. Opportunities to continue into our Summer Camp season may be available for high-performing Camp Counselors.

Requirements

Must be 18 years old.
One (1) or more years of experience working with youth in a camp, educational, or recreational setting.
Enthusiastic, dependable, and passionate about working with youth.
Ability to adapt quickly, stay organized, and manage time effectively in a dynamic camp environment.
Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced, high-energy setting with frequent interruptions and background noise.
Must have an Adult CPR/AED, First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within the first 60 days.
Positive, friendly, and professional demeanor with a passion for youth development.

Responsibilities

Actively supervise and engage with campers throughout the day to ensure a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.
Participate in and lead camp activities such as games, crafts, sports, and group challenges.
Maintain appropriate camper to staff ratios and ensure constant awareness of camper whereabouts and needs.
Encourage camper participation, teamwork, and positive behavior through active involvement and role modeling.
Support campers in resolving conflicts and navigating social interactions in a respectful and supportive manner.
Help maintain a clean and organized camp space including activity areas and shared supplies.
Communicate effectively with fellow counselors, Head Counselors, and Camp Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow all safety procedures and assist in responding to incidents or emergencies as needed.
Demonstrate enthusiasm, patience, and a positive attitude throughout the camp day.
