About The Position

YMCA Camp Kanannaq is located on Nadsilnich (West) Lake, a 20 minute drive from Prince George, BC. It is situated on 200 acres of beautiful forested lakefront property. We have a beautiful waterfront where campers spend part of each day swimming or boating, and many forested program spaces for activities such as archery, fire-building, and orienteering. During July and August, Camp Kanannaq offers day camp programs for youth ages 5-17, with one week camps for youth ages 5-15, and two and three week leadership development programs. Reporting to the Camp Supervisor, the Camp Administrative Assistant blends responsibilities to meet both camp and marketing needs. The Camp Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting all administration needs of the Camp Team and for helping promote YMCA programs across the Association and telling the YMCA Story to promote philanthropy, while gaining meaningful work experience.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in an administrative assistant or relevant role
  • Demonstrate a high level of organizational and administrative skills
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills coupled with cultural sensitivity
  • Excel in maintaining process and detail orientation while adeptly managing multiple tasks
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proactively take initiative and manage time effectively in a fast- paced, dynamic setting
  • Prioritize workload with precision, showcasing impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Emergency First Aid/CPR-C Certificate required, can be obtained within 30 days of start date
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.

Responsibilities

  • Creating camp documents such as attendance sheets and ensuring the availability of necessary forms
  • Work directly with the camp team to ensure all documents and communications are completed and up to standard
  • Effectively communicate with the public in a timely manner
  • Meet marketing needs including, but not limited to: external print and digital campaigns, newsletters, communications.
  • Work creatively, build and execute communication projects to increase social media engagement, tell YMCA stories, and encourage a culture of giving.
  • A strong ability to create and write meaningful ads within YMCA Brand Guidelines.
  • Create engaging content and manage multiple social media pages and platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to social media inquiries.
  • Create, record, and edit video and photography campaigns that are in-line with YMCA brand.
  • Able to produce high-quality work and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-demand environment – a strong ability to work within and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to identify marketing team needs and prioritize tasks accordingly.
