About The Position

Camera Department Internship at Smosh Are you passionate about the world of production and eager to gain hands-on experience in a creative and fast-paced environment? Join the Smosh team as our Fall Camera Department Intern and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative setting. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside our talented Camera Team and contribute operational support and technical assistance.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong interest in content creation and production with a passion for storytelling.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong team player mentality.
• Ability to juggle various tasks and anticipate needs of the production environment.
• Follow through on tasks provided and take ownership of actions and work performed.
• Basic knowledge of production equipment and software, with a willingness to learn on the job.
• Keen attention to detail to ensure quality and consistency throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Shadow the camera team and prepare stages for filming under the team’s supervision and guidance.
• Assist with common camera and lighting issues as they occur.
• Help the camera team by taking notes during weekly departmental meetings, walkthroughs, camera tests, and acting as a resource for operational support.
• Assist the camera team as they prepare for shoots by participating in pre-production and shot list meetings and communicating effectively with different departments as needed.
• Become familiar with commonly used gear/techniques/documents used by the camera team.
• Complete the “Smosh Intern Milestone Passport”: Work with your manager and fellow interns to accomplish a list of objectives set by the People Operations department. The goals will be the same for each intern and will provide opportunities to engage with different teams, learn & develop skills, and gain insight into the Smosh workflow.
