About The Position

Under general supervision of shifts Corporal, the position will monitor Detention Center premises to detect and communicate incidents; comprehend and operate door control system and closed-circuit television monitors; immediately notify detention officer and supervisors of the need for corrective action. Camera Monitor positions within the facility, individuals will be assigned to various control station. This position performs surveillance within a secure detention facility and follows all safety standards.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid Driver's license or able to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
Must be able to pass a background investigation with no felony or moral turpitude convictions.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Monitor security cameras, operate computer security systems, and maintain accountability sheets for court lists and “time out of cell” logs for individual detainees and/or groups of detainees.
Maintain and update population reports, as needed.
Conduct post inventory, logs, and track information to activity logs for medication passes, meals, commissary deliveries, and legal visits.
Monitor radio transmission and use radio to communicate with staff.
Provide and communicate to detention officers request for information from detainee’s electronic file.
Operate facility doors using door and intercom system
Observe television screens that transmit in-sequence views of the detention center site.
Maintain surveillance of locations where incidents are developing.
Immediately contact the shift supervisor or designee to report disruptive activity and its location. In cases of extreme emergency when unable to contact the shift supervisor contact Captain.
Adjust monitor controls when required to improve reception; notify repair service of equipment malfunctions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
