About The Position

Calypso’s Plant & Equipment Mechanics are responsible for the upkeep and repairs of equipment and infrastructure including our attractions and buildings. Mechanics play a key role in ensuring the overall upkeep of our grounds, attractions, buildings, and equipment to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Requirements

• Able to assemble mechanical equipment
• Equipment & machinery experience in conveyor, fans, blowers & hydraulics.
• Experience with water pumping equipment and motors.
• Able to troubleshoot bearings, seals and packing.
• Knowledge of structural systems.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Good communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous certification with TSSA is an asset.
• Experience with Gel-coat or surface fiberglass work is an asset

Responsibilities

• Assemble & install mechanical equipment
• Troubleshoot, repair or replace machinery parts.
• Report to assigned work area on time and in compliance with safety requirements
• Respond to work orders for repairs/preventative maintenance daily as assigned
• Inspect and maintain rides and attractions to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
• Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical components (pumps & motors)
• Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and regulations
• Perform repairs on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure as needed
