About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position within the Atrium Health Patient Access and Care Team. The role involves performing telephone triage for a diverse patient population, assessing care needs, and collaborating with patients to provide clinical solutions. The nurse will conduct comprehensive nursing assessments in a non-traditional environment, participate in team conferences, and educate patients. They will also be responsible for notifying practices, physicians, and managed care clients of patient encounters and reporting operational concerns to leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years patient-facing registered nursing experience.
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of applicable state required.
  • Must apply for and maintain a South Carolina Registered Nurse license and any other Registered Nurse licenses from states that new clients may reside in.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Epic/Microsoft knowledge.
  • Triage experience.
  • Excellent grammar/spelling/typing skills.
  • Experience in telephone triage, pediatrics and ED triage is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Performs telephone triage with diverse patient population.
  • Assesses needed care and collaborates with patients, and others, to provide clinical solutions.
  • Provides comprehensive nursing assessment in an untraditional nursing environment.
  • Actively participates in team conferences and helps assess patient education needs.
  • Notifies each practice, physician, and/or managed care client of all encounters with patients, parents or managed care clients regardless of follow-up needs before office opening.
  • Notifies designated leadership of operational concerns.
