About The Position

Ascellus is a behavioral health provider focused on helping injured workers restore their physical and emotional wellbeing. The company is seeking California-licensed psychologists to provide time-limited outpatient psychotherapy to injured workers in the workers’ compensation space. This is a 1099 role designed for clinicians seeking flexibility, operational support, and a thoughtful clinical culture.

The clinician provides typically 4–12 therapy sessions per case and chooses a caseload of 5–20 cases. They set their own availability and receive referrals based on their chosen volume and capacity. Documentation must be completed within 24–48 hours using the Ascellus Provider Portal. In-office locations are listed as 93905 and 93906.

Compensation is $160–$200 per therapy session, dependent on relevant experience, with the high end reserved for clinicians with significant applicable experience. No-show and late-cancellation appointments are paid at the full hourly rate when the appointment is canceled within 24 hours and proper patient outreach has occurred. Ascellus provides referral flow, intake coordination, billing and collections, credentialing support, scheduling and reminders, and a consultation community that includes a clinical team specializing in workers’ compensation behavioral health, peer consultation, case conferences, and training.

Requirements

• Active California psychologist license (PhD/PsyD).
• Minimum of 1 year post-licensure experience.
• Competence in CBT, evidence-based treatment, and timely documentation.

Nice To Haves

• Training or certification in PTSD interventions such as EMDR, PE, or CPT.
• Background in health psychology.
• Experience in Military, VA, or forensic settings.
• Spanish language fluency.

Responsibilities
