About The Position

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking EXPERIENCED CALIBRATORS, requiring a minimum of three years of experience as a Calibrator. A Calibrator calibrates mechanical measuring equipment and generates equipment to conform to set standards. Tests, calibrates, adjusts, and maintains mechanical, optical, and indicating instruments. Sets up calibration sequences, methods and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements. Disassembles, cleans, repairs, and replaces defective parts of equipment such as outside micrometer, veriners, depth micrometer, torque wrenches and indicators and documents calibration data in computer system.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of experience as a Calibrator.
Must be able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces.
Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be able to work sometime indoors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions.
Must be able to work assigned shift as production needs.
Must have three years experience in tool/equipment calibration.
