About The Position

As a Calibration Technician at RAM Aerospace, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the company's manufacturing operations by managing and calibrating Inspection, Measurement, and Test Equipment (IM&TE). This role involves hands-on calibration across various disciplines, maintaining traceability to NIST standards, and managing the calibration database. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to upholding high standards of precision.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum (due to ITAR requirements).
  • 3+ years of experience in Metrology or Calibration.
  • Strong understanding of Metrology principles, NIST traceability, and calibration standards (ANSI/NCSL Z540, ISO 17025).
  • Demonstrated ability to calibrate and troubleshoot varied equipment types (Electronics, Dimensional, Pressure, and Temperature).
  • Superior attention to detail; ability to manage a complex schedule and maintain impeccable records.
  • Proficiency with Calibration Management Software (CMS) databases and Microsoft Office.
  • Associate’s degree in a technical field (Electronics, Engineering Technology) or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) training in the military is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and testing on a wide variety of manufacturing and process control equipment, including dimensional, electrical, and physical/thermal equipment.
  • Manage the calibration database to schedule and track thousands of assets, generating status reports and coordinating tool recalls to minimize production downtime.
  • Manage relationships with third-party calibration labs for specialized off-site testing, reviewing and approving calibration certificates.
  • Maintain the calibration system with unbroken traceability to NIST standards, ensuring compliance with AS9100 regulations and internal procedures.
  • Investigate tools that fail calibration, issue Out of Tolerance notifications, and work with Quality/Engineering to assess impact on product quality.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for measurement, assisting engineers with gauge selection, troubleshooting measurement discrepancies, and training other technicians.
  • Manage specific gauge requests for standard and custom tooling, and maintain an inventory of spare parts and coordinate repairs for broken equipment.
