About The Position

TE Wire & Cable LLC, a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking a Calibration Technician. This role involves assembling mechanical units, operating various hand and power tools, and ensuring parts and mechanisms meet precise tolerances. The technician will monitor product and raw material quality, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions. This position is for the 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM). Previous extrusion or wire and cable experience is highly preferred. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization
  • Minimum of two years of technical experience in a laboratory environment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 preferred standards
  • Experience with temperature measurement or thermocouples preferred
  • Manufacturing or production experience is a plus
  • Some manufacturing or production experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
  • Previous extrusion or wire and cable experience is a plus
  • Basic math skills (addition and subtraction)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for calibration
  • Calibrate wire, thermocouples
  • Interpret calibration data and prepare accurate calibration certificates
  • Perform calibration of wire and thermocouples across applicable temperature ranges to meet industry standards
  • Prepare ISO/IEC 17025-compliant calibration certificates
  • Set up and troubleshoot test equipment and components
  • Operate laboratory equipment safely and properly
  • Prioritize workload based on due dates and customer requirements
  • Analyze data and make informed decisions based on results
  • May lead or direct the work of others as needed
  • Apply knowledge of thermodynamics testing practices and procedures
  • Assist in other areas as required
