About The Position

Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc. (KMSA) is a leading provider of advanced light, color, and display measurement solutions, supporting customers across highly technical and innovative industries. Our teams work in a collaborative, hands-on environment where precision, quality, consistency, and problem-solving are essential to delivering dependable measurement solutions. We are seeking a Calibration Technician to support the accuracy, quality, and reliability of KMSA products through hands-on calibration, testing, inspection, and technical analysis. This role is responsible for performing established calibration and testing procedures, evaluating product performance, documenting results, and helping identify issues that may affect product quality or reliability. The Calibration Technician will work closely with cross-functional teams to support troubleshooting, resolve technical concerns, and contribute to continuous improvement within the calibration and production environment. The ideal candidate will bring solid hands-on technical experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform routine and moderately complex calibration and testing activities with a growing level of independence. Success in this role requires a methodical approach to work, comfort with technical equipment and documented procedures, sound judgment when identifying irregularities, and a willingness to collaborate with others to ensure products consistently meet established quality and performance standards. This position is 100 percent onsite and requires daily presence at KMSA’s Redmond headquarters to support calibration, testing, production, and other lab-based activities.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on testing or metrology experience in a technical production environment.
  • Working knowledge of electronics, electronic assembly, and electronic testing, including the ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to maintain an orderly work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technical subjects, including optics, photometry, and metrology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Explorer, and Outlook; familiarity with Access a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, quality-focused, and dependable.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in electronics, optics, or similar education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans based on product specifications, with moderate independence.
  • Conduct a range of tests to assess product functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Identify and isolate common defects, malfunctions, and other issues during testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues.
  • Document and communicate test results and issues clearly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with Quality Assurance teams to help ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality policies.
  • Contribute suggestions to the improvement of testing procedures and methodologies.
  • Analyze test data and generate clear reports detailing findings.
  • Offer input and observations for product improvements based on test results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to address issues and support product quality efforts.
  • Provide informal guidance and support to junior test technicians as needed.
