About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking Calibration Technicians in Richardson, Texas for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production and laboratory equipment used across optical fabrication, coating, assembly, and test operations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree.
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience calibrating tools, instruments, or equipment in a production, manufacturing, or laboratory environment.
  • Experience calibrating one or more of the following: RF, electrical, mechanical, ESD, or optical equipment.
  • Experience using calibration or asset-management systems to track equipment and calibration status.
  • Understanding of measurement traceability standards and hierarchy.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, including SI units, derived units, multipliers, and unit conversions.
  • Troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technicians, engineers, production personnel, and quality teams.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or similar certification.
  • Experience with optics, optical alignment, or optical test equipment.
  • Knowledge of the optics industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Experience supporting quality audits.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and initiative.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations on RF, electrical, mechanical, ESD, optical, and related equipment.
  • Calibrate tools, inspection equipment, test systems, and factory equipment in accordance with established procedures and requirements.
  • Support calibration activities across optical fabrication, diamond-point turning, optical coating, and assembly/test operations.
  • Determine whether measurement standards are suitable for calibration activities.
  • Maintain calibration records within the applicable asset-management system.
  • Support quality standards and calibration-related audits.
  • Troubleshoot calibration issues and perform corrective actions when required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment when needed.
  • Work alongside experienced equipment technicians to support manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure calibrated equipment remains compliant with company and industry requirements.
