About The Position

Provides administrative and clerical support for all aspects of calibration inventory control and the coordination of calibration services in accordance with company established procedures and standards.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and a clear understanding of VACCO’s internal Gage instructions and standards below: ISO/IEC 17025, VI-CAL, VACCO VI-CAL-XXX Note: be familiar with all calibrated procedure located in IQS
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing procedures, including work order processing.
  • Familiar with MS software such as Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Process new devices into the calibration system, maintains an accurate record of all calibration requirements, calibrations, certifications, and the location of equipment at all times.
  • Coordinates the calibration services with internal, and external sources.
  • Check-in measurement test equipment when manufacturing and or QA drops off gages. Gages should be checked-in to the calibration system on arrival, then place on proper shelf.
  • Records and tracks the location of all equipment in calibration.
  • Controls the physical movement of equipment within and out of the Calibration Lab and makes location changes as necessary when transferred to a new location.
  • Recalls equipment as necessary for Calibration and coordinates internal calibration of equipment with the Quality department.
  • Performs calibration, testing, troubleshooting and repairs as necessary, data collection and report completion on a wide range of mechanical and test equipment.
  • Use established internal procedures as well as industry standards, manufacturer procedures for the proper calibration and troubleshooting of mechanical measuring and test equipment.
  • Completes required documentation to certify the verification and calibration of mechanical measuring and test equipment.
  • Provides recommendations for improving calibration procedures.
  • Self-manage time to obtain maximum efficiency.
  • Follows company policies and standard operating procedures.
