About The Position

Aldinger, an Accredited Labs company, is seeking a metrologist to lead its ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration lab in Dallas, Texas. The manager owns the lab’s day-to-day operations, technical quality, team development, and customer outcomes, serving as both the technical authority on the floor and a business leader. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. The role leads Calibration Technicians and Assistant Service Managers, balancing workflow, turnaround, and measurement quality. It includes maintaining accreditation and quality-system readiness, developing staff competency, supporting business growth and continuous improvement, managing budgets, and serving as the primary technical contact for customers. Accredited Labs provides accredited calibration services through a network of regional calibration companies, combining local customer relationships with national infrastructure and resources. Requirements

Background in metrology or calibration, with grounding across multiple disciplines such as electrical, dimensional, pressure, temperature, mass, or torque.
At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience in the calibration industry, such as as a lead, supervisor, assistant manager, or lab manager.
Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1, ISO 9000, and ISO 16949, and experience supporting accreditation assessments.
Strong grasp of calibration policies, procedures, and methodologies, including measurement uncertainty and metrological traceability.
Proven ability to lead a team, develop technicians, and manage competing priorities.
Intermediate skills reading and managing internal income statements.
Advanced quantitative and analytical skills and PC proficiency.
Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with a customer-first mindset.
Initiative, integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage projects under pressure.
Flexibility in schedule to support the business.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a multi-site or national calibration network.
Familiarity with lab management or ERP software.
Business development or revenue growth experience in technical services.
Metrology certifications or training, such as ASQ CCT, CQE, or manufacturer and NCSLI/MSC training.
Experience as an assessor, technical manager, or quality manager under 17025.

Responsibilities

Direct daily lab operations, prioritize workflow, schedule staff, and balance throughput against measurement quality.
Serve as the lab’s technical authority; review calibration methods, procedures, and results, and support uncertainty budgets, traceability, and measurement assurance practices.
Ensure technicians are trained and competency-assessed and deliver accurate calibrations and repairs in accordance with corporate quality requirements and accreditation standards.
Support ISO/IEC 17025 compliance and assessments, nonconformance handling, and corrective and preventive actions to keep the lab audit-ready.
Work with Sales and the Branch Manager on pricing standards, cost justification and ROI, new service capabilities, and training needs.
Build and manage budgets and continuous improvement plans to improve lab performance.
Act as the primary technical contact for customers, explain results, resolve questions, and build long-term relationships.
Partner with corporate on recruiting, training, workload planning, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.
