About The Position

This role involves providing Gas/Hybrid Calibrators to work with the Ford team to deliver 26MY-28MY Gas/Hybrid Calibrations and support previous MY programs. The Calibration team is responsible for the development and signoff of Emissions, OBD, and Driveability features and attributes. The engineers will perform various tasks including chassis emissions calibration, OBD monitor development and self-certification, OBD component monitor and code DV, base engine calibration development, transmission/driveline calibration, and functional safety (FuSa) calibration.

Requirements

  • Six (10) Gas/Hybrid Calibrators needed

Responsibilities

  • Chassis Cert Emissions Calibration: Daily responsibility for chassis dyno vehicle testing and analysis, maintaining vehicle test schedule, submitting test requests, supporting vehicle level testing, analyzing emissions and ATI data files, modifying calibration parameters to optimize emissions, and reporting status to Ford signoff criteria.
  • OBD Emissions monitor development and self-cert: Maintaining vehicle test schedule, submitting test requests, supporting vehicle level testing, analyzing emissions and ATI data files, modifying calibration parameters to ensure on-cycle OBD demonstration, and reporting status to Ford signoff criteria.
  • OBD Component Monitors and Code DV: Collecting data, analyzing ATI data files, and modifying calibration parameters to ensure proper fault detection and reporting status to Ford sign-off criteria.
  • Base engine calibration development and sign-off: Performing assigned feature DV plan, analyzing ATI data files, processing data against MOS criteria, and presenting results against Ford sign-off criteria. Examples of base features include Spark/Knock control, Aircharge control, Cold Start Warmup, Torque Control, etc.
  • Transmission/Driveline Calibration: Develop and maintain calibration DVM's and DVP&R using in vehicle or dynamometer calibration data as appropriate. Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle test schedule, submitting test requests, supporting vehicle level testing, analyzing ATI data files and modifying calibration parameters to optimize transmission/driveline attributes, and reporting status to Ford signoff criteria.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop control systems and calibration approaches for future programs, including new hybrid architectures.
  • Perform analysis of quality data (warranty and customer satisfaction surveys) and connected vehicle information to drive quality improvements for current and future products.
  • Functional Safety (FuSa) Calibration Engineer: Maintaining vehicle test schedule, submitting test requests, supporting vehicle level testing, analyzing ATI data files and modifying calibration parameters to meet FuSa sign-off requirements. Perform in vehicle DV against internal Ford FuSa sign-off requirements. Track status of DV to completion, document completion of DV in EDMS, and report out status to Ford signoff criteria.
