Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in tool shop management, tracking databases, inventory logistics, calibration coordination, or quality control inside a production facility.
  • Strong proficiency utilizing specialized inventory databases (such as Gauge Suite) and intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Knowledge of station safety, quality (clean as you go / Foreign Object Debris) and OSHA regulations
  • Must have basic skills of using a variety of tools
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues to others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.
  • Able to enter, generate and retrieve information using a computer (SAP and Excel knowledge required)
  • Ability to stand, walk, and navigate a large aerospace shop floor daily; capacity to lift and handle inventory weights up to 30 lbs while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel-toed boots.
  • High School Diploma/GED or WorkKeys Assessment completion
  • The ability to successfully complete the following training provided by Airbus after recruitment: Health & Safety, General aircraft familiarization, Quality Training
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning platforms like SAP is highly preferred.
  • Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of equipment maintenance skills and practices

Responsibilities

  • Compile and generate the master tracking spreadsheet from Gauge Suite identifying all tooling and gauges due for calibration; distribute this data to production managers, team leads, and shop floor stakeholders to facilitate component location.
  • Update the active gauge tracking spreadsheet daily, removing tools that have been returned or reporting missing assets through the formal Lost Tool Report workflow (requiring Department Manager and Quality sign-offs).
  • Execute the primary weekly calibration cycle every Wednesday. Pack and manifest outbound gauges using Gauge Suite-generated packing slips, verify incoming inventory against vendor documents, and route passing tools to their respective area owners.

  • Conduct meticulous reviews and approvals of calibration certificates provided by third-party vendors to ensure they conform to aerospace metrics.
  • Identify and isolate gauges that fail calibration thresholds; immediately communicate certificate copies and tool usage details to Quality Engineering to assess potential manufacturing or product risks.
  • Coordinate with off-site specialty vendors for specialized calibration. Manage price quote acquisition, input Service Tracking System (STS) actions for Purchase Order (PO) creation, and handle final logistics/shipping forms.
  • Ensure all Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) gauges are accompanied by completed Calibration Requirements Forms when requesting vendor quotes.
  • Keep software records up to date with precise tool ownership transfers, physical storage changes, and descriptive lifecycle notes.
  • Ensure all certification records are preserved for audit pathways; serve as a primary support resource for extracting history lineages during annual internal and external facility quality audits.
  • Obtain and deliver material and equipment necessary to support plant maintenance and repair.
  • Work from diagrams, prints, specifications or verbal orders.
  • Use hand tools, powered tools and shop equipment.
  • Perform disassembly and assembling operations necessary to accomplish assignment.
  • Enter and retrieve data from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and order parts required to accomplish the tasks (except as relates to inventory, store, record, issue and any other duties related to material support technician.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
