About The Position

At PolyPeptide, we partner with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to support the development and manufacturing of peptide-based therapies. We are looking for a Calibration and Metrology Specialist to help ensure the instruments, equipment, and systems used in our GMP manufacturing, laboratory, and facility operations remain accurate, reliable, and compliant. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, takes pride in precision and documentation, and understands the importance of calibration and metrology in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. In this position, your work will directly support product quality, equipment readiness, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery to our customers. The Calibration and Metrology Specialist is responsible for performing calibration, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and compliance activities for instruments and equipment used across manufacturing, laboratory, utility, and facility operations. In this role, you will help maintain equipment in a validated and inspection-ready state, support investigations for out-of-tolerance or failed calibrations, coordinate with external vendors, and collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Laboratory teams. This is an important technical role for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and confident working in a GMP environment where accuracy, traceability, and compliance are essential.

Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical field.
3+ years of calibration or metrology experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, CDMO, or similar regulated environment.
Strong understanding of calibration standards, methods, tolerances, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
Hands-on experience with calibration tools and standards, such as weights, multimeters, RTDs, pressure gauges, pH meters, HPLCs, and related instrumentation.
Experience maintaining calibration records, certificates, and GMP documentation.
Ability to troubleshoot instrument performance, equipment functionality, and calibration-related issues.
Understanding of cGMP, ISO, FDA, ICH, 21 CFR Part 11, and applicable quality system requirements.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
Accountability and strong compliance orientation.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams.
Strong communication and technical writing skills.
Ability to prioritize work and support equipment readiness in a fast-paced GMP environment.
Safety awareness and understanding of regulated laboratory and manufacturing practices.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting manufacturing, laboratory, utility, or facility equipment in a regulated setting preferred.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance or calibration management systems, such as CMMS, preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform calibrations and routine maintenance on laboratory, manufacturing, utility, and facility instruments and equipment.
Follow established calibration schedules, procedures, work instructions, and GMP documentation requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date calibration records, certificates, and related documentation in accordance with cGMP, ISO, and company standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and instrument issues related to calibration, performance, and functionality.
Support investigations for out-of-tolerance or failed calibrations, including root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for third-party calibrations, repairs, and equipment qualifications.
Assist with the development, review, and improvement of calibration procedures, schedules, and work instructions.
Support compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, FDA, ICH, and other applicable regulatory requirements for instrumentation and metrology systems.
Provide calibration documentation and technical support during internal and external audits.
Participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of computerized calibration management systems, including CMMS.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Laboratory, and Facilities teams to support equipment readiness for production and testing operations.
Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accuracy, and compliance.
