DecoPac, Inc. is a high growth, high Energy Company that designs, markets and distributes the most popular cake decorations and bakery supplies in the bakery industry. Located in Anoka, MN we work with licensors and brands to produce, sell and distribute our products to supermarkets, retail bakeries, and food service institutions throughout North America. The role of Cake Design/Support Specialist focuses on providing DecoPac customers operational support through a variety of duties. Working with the Marketing Operations Manager, the role would primarily focus on the custom cake design needs of DecoPac’s in-store bakery, food service and pre-manufacturing customer base. The position would include the planning and execution of training programs to support in store technicians and bakery staff. Additionally, this position would support the development of revenue producing programs, assist in creating bakery/decorator communications, engage in dessert format ideation beyond cake, and work with in-store retailer and broker techs. The individual would represent DecoPac in the industry, providing expanded reputation in the operational solutions required from our customers and communicated through the industry via trade communications, shows, social media, etc.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a hands-on cake decorator for In-Store Bakery.
  • Have experience in working with cake decorators and bakery industry personnel.
  • Understanding of bakery industry: trends, techniques, in-store operations, structure, operations.
  • Strong communication skills – writing, speaking, digital.
  • Excellent organizational skills – ability to handle multiple projects at once.
  • Self-motivated, but also able to collaborate with a larger team on key projects.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and time management skills with proven ability to make decisions quickly and pivot when needed.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner while always showing integrity.
  • Strong MS Office capabilities – ability to utilize Canto a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create custom cake designs for in-store bakery use among assigned retailers.
  • Develop a hands-on understanding of our key account’s operational needs, decorating talent, and in-store tools in order to bring solutions to those accounts.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to bring operationally-focused solutions to key accounts.
  • Grow relationships with key account staff, broker representatives, and trade personnel.
  • Collaborate with Customer Marketing Team in the development of successful programs.
  • Provide a roster of operational solutions to Buyer personnel based on the needs of the account and connect those solutions to revenue.
  • Plan, organize, attend, and (as applicable) be featured at trade events.
  • Train, educate and collaborate with key account sales leads on the operational solutions for their accounts.
  • Build relationships with industry partners and vendors to develop unique partnership-based programs for key accounts in collaboration with sales/marketing.
  • Aid in the creation of training materials as needed.
  • Consult product and supply teams on new innovations to assist assigned accounts from an operational standpoint.
  • Travel as needed to vendor/broker/partner/customer locations to assist in solution development.
