About The Position

As a Cake Decorator, you will drive member service in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations. This role involves planning bakery productions, ensuring consistency in quality and accuracy of decorative designs, and working with various products to create decorative elements on bakery items. You will also be responsible for adhering to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management. Additionally, you will leverage digital tools to drive sales and improve the shopping experience, manage the performance of the bakery area, and act as a brand advocate by modeling high-quality service and products.

Requirements

  • 6 months' experience in fresh production area.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources.
  • Communicate and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service.
  • Be flexible to the needs of the business, maintaining instock levels and controlling shrinkage.
  • Plan bakery productions, ensuring consistency in quality and accuracy of bakery decorative designs.
  • Follow recipe measurement instructions and work with a variety of products to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management.
  • Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
  • Demonstrate understanding of product and layout execution.
  • Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
  • Utilize hand-held technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality.
  • Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Drive the performance of the bakery area, ensuring quality and date control standards and eliminating waste.
  • Prepare for seasonal events that impact bakery volume (e.g., holidays, graduations, family events).
  • Identify member needs, assist members with purchasing decisions, and resolve member issues and concerns.
  • Be a brand advocate by valuing the members experience in Bakery and modeling high quality service and products.
  • Interact with associates to understand roadblocks and assist in training, developing, influencing, and inspiring them.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
