Requirements
- Basic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Prior supervisory experience
- Prior experience with oven, convection oven, mixer, fryer, bread slicer, stove, wrapper, scales, and cleaning materials
Responsibilities
- Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely
- Accurately record customers’ order/ requests for cakes and other bakery items
- Process customer purchases quickly and accurately by the operation of an electronic cash register, scanner and scale
- Review the perishable department Communication Board daily for updated materials and follow the guidelines posted for the Sampling Program and intercom announcements.
- Greet all customers, respond to customer questions/requests and explain store policies in a courteous manner
- Ice and decorate cakes and pastries to customers and company specifications
- Record "out-of-stock" conditions and the time they occur and report to the department manager
- Fill/stock: donut case, cookie case, cake case, other display cases, and counter and display tables throughout the store
- Lift, twist, move and carry a maximum of 50 lbs., from the floor to shelving, or overhead racks in the store and cooler/freezer
- Maintain active signage and pricing in all departmental areas
- Care for signs, banners, and debris from daily operations
- Accurately and efficiently handle cash, debit/credit, EBT/WIC, coupons, and vouchers
- Respond to customers, coworkers, and vendor questions and responses promptly and politely
- Proper usage of store phone and intercom systems
- Supervise/perform the checking of case and cooler temperatures 4 times daily utilizing the time keeping system to record each check.
