About The Position

That's WEIS! This position is responsible for keeping the bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand. The associate will smile and greet customers, make suggestions, answer questions about various products and preparation of cakes, and help resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. They will take customer orders over the phone or in person with a pleasant and positive attitude, determining what the customer is looking for in terms of size, flavor, and appearance. The role involves creating the finished decorated product in a timely fashion, decorating cakes and other bakery products using dye, specific designs, or by creating custom designs. The associate will use a variety of creams, frostings, and fillings with consistent outcomes, make icing for cakes and other related products, and adhere to company-approved recipes. Responsibilities also include trimming and cutting cakes to the required shape and size, spreading icing between layers and on the cake surface, and tinting white icing to required colors. The role assists in filling and merchandising the bakery sales area while adhering to production logs, and creates cakes, pastries, etc. for sale in the service case. Following rotation and mark-down policies to ensure quality and freshness is crucial. The associate helps maintain inventory levels with proper ordering and production logging. They may assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through the operation of a power jack or hand jack if properly trained (training provided). Assistance may also be provided with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained (training provided). The associate is responsible for general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc., are well-maintained, clean, and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Trash disposal is also a responsibility. Ensuring the smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors, and continuously improving job performance are key. The associate is responsible for the utilization of all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear. Assistance in other departments may also be requested.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
1-2 years’ experience in decorating.
