As a Cake Decorator at Sam's Club, you will play a crucial role in driving member service within the bakery area, ensuring that members receive high-quality, attractively decorated bakery items. This position requires collaboration with other associates to meet overall club expectations and deliver value to members. Key aspects of the role include planning bakery production, maintaining consistency in quality and decorative designs, following precise recipe instructions, and utilizing various decorating tools such as bags, tips, and nozzles to create decorative flowers and lettering. You will be responsible for adhering to strict food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management. The role also involves operating, maintaining, and sanitizing equipment, as well as understanding product and layout execution. You will leverage digital tools and handheld technology to make business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality, with the member in mind, and adapt to new tools while encouraging others to use them. Furthermore, you will be an 'Owner' by driving the performance of the bakery, ensuring quality and date control standards, minimizing waste, and preparing for seasonal events that impact bakery volume, such as holidays, graduations, and family events. This role also involves identifying member needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, and resolving member issues and concerns. As a 'Talent Ambassador', you will advocate for the brand, value the members' experience in the Bakery, model high-quality service and products, and interact with associates to understand roadblocks, assisting in training, developing, influencing, and inspiring them to work in a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented style. You are expected to comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, and collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
