About The Position

That's WEIS! This role is responsible for keeping the bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand. The associate will smile and greet customers, make suggestions, answer questions about various products and preparation of cakes, and help resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. They will take customer orders over the phone or in person with a pleasant and positive attitude, determining what the customer is looking for in terms of size, flavor and appearance. The associate will create the finished decorated product in a timely fashion, decorating cakes and other bakery products using dye, specific designs or by creating custom designs. They will use a variety of creams, frostings and fillings with consistent outcome, and make icing for cakes and other related products, adhering to company approved recipes. The role also involves trimming and cutting cakes to required shape and size, spreading icing between layers and on cake surface, and tinting white icing to required colors. The associate will assist in filling and merchandising the bakery sales area while adhering to production logs, and create cakes, pastries, etc. for sale in the service case. They will follow rotation and mark down policies to ensure quality and freshness, and help maintain inventory levels with proper ordering and proper production logging. May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack if properly trained. Training is provided. May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained. Training is provided. The associate is responsible for general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Trash will be disposed of properly. The associate ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors and is responsible for continuously improving job performance. They are responsible for the utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc. May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
1-2 years’ experience in decorating.
