About The Position

The Cake Decorator helps grow community by building guest loyalty and providing personal interactions that create genuine relationships and a brand-aligned guest experience. The role prepares and decorates bakery products for sale, maintains product quality and freshness, and helps ensure the bakery and its work areas remain clean, organized, and properly stocked. The Cake Decorator may also perform bakery clerk functions when requested and assist with receiving and storing products.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Greet and interact politely and in a friendly manner with all guests.
Prepare products for sale by icing, decorating, pricing, packaging, and labeling them.
Maintain product levels, quality, and freshness.
Perform bakery clerk functions when requested.
Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area.
Clean the work area, couplers, and decorating bags properly.
Keep the freezer organized and rotate products according to variety.
Communicate guest requests to management and temperature breakdowns to a supervisor.
Keep the supply area neat, clean, and tidy.
Rotate icings properly, read icing dates, and scrape down buckets.
Use the cake manual as a reference.
Write on cakes and mix colors according to the color chart.
Master use of the airbrush.
Use the cake production sheet.
Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the cake section of the bakery.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Perform Front Porch duties to maintain the guest-arrival standard.
Announce specials and sale information over the PA system.
Assist with product receiving and storage.
