About The Position

The Cake Decorator creates visually appealing, delicious cakes that meet customer expectations and special requests. The role includes providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service; taking cake orders and creating custom designs; preparing, baking, filling, and decorating cakes; and completing orders and sale items efficiently while maintaining consistent quality. The decorator maintains knowledge of bakery products, pricing, and promotions; ensures products are rotated, labeled, fresh, and presentable; and performs final checks of packaging and sell-by dates. The role also requires keeping work areas and equipment clean and organized, prioritizing customer needs, and contributing to a courteous, collaborative workplace that reflects Adams’ service commitments and values. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule. The listed pay range is $21.00–$29.40 per hour. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Knowledge of cake decorating for customers’ special requests.
Knowledge of bakery products and offers.
Ability to provide friendly customer service and assist bakery customers.
Willingness to collaborate and communicate with co-workers and managers.
Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, positivity, and knowledge of Adams’ products and quality.
Ability to move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Ability to remain stationary for the duration of a shift.
Ability to occasionally ascend and descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder.
Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the duration of a shift.
Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
Ability to move into different positions to accomplish tasks, including in tight and confined spaces.
Ability to work with periodic exposure to cold temperatures during a shift.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, take cake orders, and create custom cake designs while providing excellent customer service.
Mix, bake, fill, and decorate cakes using bakery recipes and techniques, including buttercream flowers, fondant, and gum paste.
Complete cake orders and prepare items for sale in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain knowledge of the bakery’s product line, pricing, and sale items.
Rotate products and ensure items are properly labeled, fresh, and visually appealing.
Perform final quality checks of packaging, sell-by dates, and product presentation.
Keep equipment, workstations, display areas, and other work areas clean and organized.
Prioritize customer needs over other tasks to support a positive shopping experience.
Work collaboratively and communicate with co-workers and managers, demonstrating Adams’ culture and values.
