About The Position

The Cage Tender role offers the opportunity for you to be responsible for safe transportation of personnel and supplies and for the conveying of ore/waste from the pass to primary crusher or skip at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operations. The roster will be seven (7) days on and seven (7) days off (12 hours), inclusive of a day and night shift rotation. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $96,000 to $120,000 CAD.

Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma and Ontario Common Core.
Miner 5 Level Training at minimum.
Solid understanding of automated and semi-automated hoisting procedures.
Thorough knowledge of company’s accident and fire procedures.
Sound comprehension of procedures and regulations for transporting explosives.
Exceptional decision-making skills
Good troubleshooting capabilities
Adapts and copes well with change, manages pressure and deadlines effectively.
Strong attention to detail
Excellent multi-taking abilities
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others

Responsibilities

Load cage and transport manpower, materials and equipment to be lowered into mine.
Assist with snow removal/cleanup.
Assist with the offloading and loading of surface transport delivery trucks.
Train and spare as a host operator.
Transport explosives to underground levels.
Signal Hoist Operator with bell or buzzer when cage is to be moved.
Pushes mine cars onto and off mine shaft cage and informs workers when cage is used to carry mine personnel.
Ensure shaft guide sprinkler systems are working properly at all times.
Push or pulls loaded cars off cage at surface and replaces with cars that are empty or loaded with supplies.
Pull empty cars from cage at bottom or intermediate levels of mine and moves onto sidings for distribution and loading.
Give directions to workers in loading of cage to ensure conformance to safety regulations.
Operate forklift / telehandler safely and efficiently.
Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
