About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for cleaning, maintaining, repairing, and prepping cages for live haul trailers. The role involves ensuring trailers and cages are clean and sanitized, performing necessary paperwork, inspecting and repairing cages according to DOT and animal welfare guidelines, and safely operating various heavy-duty equipment. General housekeeping duties are also expected to maintain an orderly work area.

Requirements

• CDL License Required
• Relative maintenance experience (e.g. cutting, grinding, welding, etc.).
• Basic math functions and skills.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
• Ability to operate yard equipment (e.g. forklift, yard truck, tractor, etc.)
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Stand up to 8 hours.
• Lift up to 60 lbs.
• Frequent exposure to outdoor environment.
• Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.
• Work around raw, live animal odors.
• Work in noisy environment (>85 decibels) and moving equipment.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cage maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize live haul trailers and cages.
• Perform all necessary paperwork associated with assigned job (i.e. work orders, charge parts, etc.).
• Inspect and repair cages, adhering to DOT and animal welfare guidelines and regulations.
• Drive various heavy duty equipment pieces safely.
• General housekeeping duties, maintaining neat, clean and orderly work area.
• All other duties as assigned.
