About The Position

The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education (AVRCE) is seeking a Cafeteria Worker for the Annapolis West Education Centre. This is a part-time position, working 4 hours per day, with an effective start date of September 1, 2026. The rate of pay is in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement Local 3876. Requirements

• Must have experience in food and menu preparation.
• Must be organized, neat/tidy and have clean work habits.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
• Must have knowledge of food and nutrition policy for Nova Scotia Public Schools.
• Must enjoy working with students.
• Valid Nova Scotia Operator's License.
• Must have a current Food Handling Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Cashier, as required.
• Cooking, baking, and preparation of food.
• Keeping daily accounts and inventory control.
• Selling canteen items at recess and noon.
• Kitchen duties as required in coordination with the cafeteria team (stocking shelves, cleaning, dishes etc.).
• Support of the school recycling program.
• Substitute for Head Cafeteria Worker, as required.
