About The Position

The Cafeteria Worker is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing, serving, and displaying food in a safe and sanitary manner. This role supports daily cafeteria operations by maintaining food quality, stocking supplies, operating a cash register, and ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment. The Cafeteria Worker follows all food safety, sanitation, and organizational standards while contributing to an efficient and positive customer experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous food service, cafeteria, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
Basic cash handling, mathematics; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and point-of-sale experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to departmental requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare, portion, and serve food and beverages according to established recipes, production schedules, and department standards.
Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Operate cash register and food service equipment accurately and efficiently.
Stock and replenish food, beverages, condiments, utensils, and supplies throughout service periods.
Maintain attractive food displays and ensure products are properly labeled and presented.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention procedures.
Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, serving areas, dining rooms, and storage areas.
Monitor food temperatures and document required food safety records.
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies using proper inventory practices.
Transport food, supplies, and equipment as needed.
Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient cafeteria operations and customer satisfaction.
Follow departmental policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
