This role involves preparing food using standardized recipes, ensuring accurate measurements, and employing correct food preparation techniques. The Food Tech is responsible for meeting deadlines by preparing food according to time schedules and monitoring its quality during preparation. A key aspect of the job is maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen and equipment through regular maintenance, proper storage of deliveries, and adherence to established sanitation techniques. Serving correct food portions with acceptable sanitation techniques, maintaining correct cooking and holding temperatures, and utilizing food merchandising techniques are also essential. The position requires accurate reporting and documentation of food usage and inventory, as well as performing assigned record-keeping tasks, including food and equipment temperatures. Receiving and dating deliveries, putting away inventory, and fostering a harmonious team environment by assisting coworkers are also part of the duties. The Food Tech must identify and report unsafe work conditions and use safe working procedures. Positive and professional interaction with students, faculty, administration, and others regarding the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) is expected. The role may also require driving a company vehicle and performing other duties as assigned.
