About The Position

San Diego Mission Bay Resort is a sprawling 357-room resort, boasting multiple dining options, a beautiful pool, a kids pool, astonishing Bay views, fire pits and so much more. We are excited to welcome a new Cafeteria Cook to our Mission Bay Family. As a cook, you are the heart of our resort, using your skills and expertise to delight our team members and guest. You will be responsible for the preparation food. The ideal candidate will have cooking experience, strong food safety practices and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Requirements

• Have experience in a similar size hotel. We look for candidates with full service hotel experience, preferable in an upscale independent hotel.
• Are eager to learn and take pride in your work
• Are reliable, have a flexible mind-set and like to smile

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and portion meals according to established recipes and menus.
• Prepare breakfast, lunch, snacks, and other food items as assigned.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and ensure food is stored safely.
• Set up serving areas
• Monitor food quantities and notify the supervisor when supplies need replenishing.
• Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, work areas, utensils, and serving areas.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies.
• Minimize food waste while maintaining appropriate portions and quality.
• Perform other food-service duties as assigned.
