About The Position

The Cafeteria Attendant performs janitorial and utility duties to maintain the safety and cleanliness of assigned areas while providing teamwork and guest service. The role follows company, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures and may receive additional or revised duties based on business volume and current operational needs. The position reports to the Steward Manager.

Requirements

Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
Ability to work with industrial cleaning supplies.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to successfully multitask several duties at one time.
Sufficient strength to perform job responsibilities.
Ability to lift or transport at least 50 pounds.
Ability to push or pull carts and other equipment up to 250 pounds.
Ability to stand and maintain well-paced mobility for up to four hours at a time.
Ability to perform constant standing and walking, and frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting.
Required footwear: closed-toe, non-canvas, non-skid-soled shoes.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma is desirable.
Previous restaurant or food service experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Sweep and mop floors, and clean walls and floor mats.
Remove refuse, clean trash containers, and keep the loading dock orderly.
Pick up trash in the kitchen and loading dock area.
Maintain walk-in refrigerators.
Keep storage areas, tools, equipment, carts, and other assigned areas and items clean.
Participate in dish area operations as assigned and return items that are not sufficiently clean for a second wash.
Change and dispose of grease.
Maintain awareness of safety and accident prevention; notify the Manager immediately and complete an accident/incident report if an accident occurs.
Assist fellow associates as needed.
Report maintenance problems and other problem areas to the designated Manager on Duty.
Follow company policies and procedures and safety and sanitation policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
