About The Position
Buckeye Union School District (El Dorado Hills) is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cafeteria Assistant to join their Food Services team. This part-time role, working 3 hours per day during the school year, is crucial in ensuring students receive healthy meals in a clean and welcoming cafeteria setting. The position involves assisting in meal preparation, serving, and clean-up, while upholding food safety standards and maintaining a positive environment. This is a floater position, with assignments potentially at any of the district's schools in the El Dorado Hill, Cameron Park, and Shingle Springs area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of daily meals, including breakfast and lunch
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cafeteria and kitchen areas
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, and food warmers
- Monitor and restock food and supply inventory as needed
- Support the cashier during meal times, including handling money and maintaining accurate records
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other team members
