About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cafeteria Assistant to join our Food Services team. This role is crucial in ensuring our students receive healthy meals in a clean and welcoming cafeteria setting. The Cafeteria Assistant will perform a variety of tasks related to the preparation, serving, and clean-up of school meals. This includes ensuring food safety standards are met, maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria, and providing courteous service to students and staff.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and serving of daily meals, including breakfast and lunch
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cafeteria and kitchen areas
Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, and food warmers
Monitor and restock food and supply inventory as needed
Support the cashier during meal times, including handling money and maintaining accurate records
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other team members
