About The Position

Dauphin County Technical School is seeking a full-time Cafeteria Aide for a 10-month position with daytime hours. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a team environment, and wants to be part of a school community. The Cafeteria Aide will play an important role in keeping cafeteria operations running smoothly and providing students and staff with a positive and welcoming mealtime experience. The successful candidate must be willing to cross-train in various cafeteria positions and responsibilities, including meal preparation, serving, cashiering, dishwashing, cleaning, and stocking. This role directly supports students by ensuring they receive safe, nutritious meals in a clean, friendly, and efficient environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Nice To Haves

• Previous food service, cafeteria, or kitchen experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare and serve meals to students and staff
• Welcome and assist students during meal service with a friendly and positive attitude
• Assist with basic food preparation, portioning, and food service
• Help maintain an organized and efficient serving area
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
• Keep kitchen, serving, and dining areas clean and sanitary
• Restock food, beverages, utensils, and supplies as needed
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and follow established procedures
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements
• Assist with cashiering and other cafeteria functions as assigned
• Work cooperatively with cafeteria staff to support daily operations
• Cross-train in multiple cafeteria positions and be willing to perform different duties based on operational needs
