About The Position

The café lead cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items for the café and dining services at Tri-County Technical College. The lead cook will maintain high standards of food preparation, cleanliness, and customer service to provide a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and fellow cooks.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma OR GED
  • 2+ years of experience cooking in a restaurant setting.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of supervisor experience in a food service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold menu items, including breakfast, lunch, and snack options, following established recipes and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Regularly clean kitchen equipment, workstations, and utensils.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to students, staff, and other customers, ensuring their dietary needs and preferences are met.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure smooth café operations, including assisting with opening and closing duties, and cooperating with other team members.
  • Coordinate daily operations by delegating job assignments and providing guidance.
  • Provide supervision at the assigned location when the Manager/Supervisor is not directly present.
