About The Position

The Front Climbing Club is seeking a full-time, hybrid Cafe & Gym Staff member for their Salt Lake City and South Main locations. This role involves primarily working in the Rumsy's café, preparing food and drinks for climbers, and also supporting the gym floor with front desk duties, member services, and safety monitoring. It's an opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to be an integral part of The Front's community.

Requirements

5+ years of experience across work, school, or trade training.
At least 2 years of combined serving and cooking experience.
Must be 21 or older.
Hold (or be able to obtain) a Utah Alcohol Server Permit and a food handler's card.
Barista skills and knowledge of espresso drinks.
First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Comfortable with Utah Alcohol Certification for floor duties.
Ability to stand, move, and stay alert through an 8-12 hour shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be available to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Serve food and drinks with warmth and hospitality.
Prepare hot and cold menu items with attention to quality and presentation.
Operate and maintain the espresso machine and prepare coffee drinks.
Stock, prep, and rotate ingredients, managing food costs and waste.
Maintain cleanliness of the café, including counters, tables, and kitchen.
Collaborate with the chef and management on new menu ideas.
Welcome and check in climbers, providing information on memberships, programs, and gear.
Monitor the climbing floor for safety, including certification tags and belay technique.
Conduct belay tests and autobelay orientations.
Assist with cleaning, facility walk-throughs, and other shift duties.
Support events, promotions, and vendor markets.
