About The Position

The Food Service Worker supports hospital food service operations by safely preparing, assembling, and delivering meals to patients, visitors, and staff. This role ensures high-quality service, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety standards in a fast-paced environment. This position does not provide direct patient care.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (experience may substitute)
Previous food service experience preferred
Ability to read and communicate in English (role dependent)
Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to safely push carts and handle food service equipment
Positive attitude and commitment to service excellence (I CARE standards)

Responsibilities

Prepare, assemble, and serve food for patient tray line, cafeteria, and retail areas
Set up, stock, and maintain food service stations for meal service
Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays as needed
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
Adhere to HACCP and department food safety standards
Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly
Assist with food preparation for tray line and cafeteria operations
Operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform routine cleaning tasks
Monitor supplies and report shortages or concerns to leadership
Support department goals to improve operations and customer satisfaction
Participate in meetings, trainings, and sanitation projects
Assist with training and cross-training of team members
