About The Position

The Cafe Cashier is responsible for handling various forms of payment including cash, checks, and credit cards, and accurately managing the till at the beginning and end of each shift. Key duties also include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store, stocking inventory in areas such as groceries, fountain, and coffee, and operating an espresso machine according to established procedures. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers, maintain a positive attitude, and adhere to food handling procedures. Physical demands include repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers, standing for extended periods, and the ability to multi-task in an indoor, climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle cash, checks, credit cards
• Count till at the beginning and end of each shift, verifying that all transactions were done correctly and till balances at the end of each shift
• Maintain the store appearance by keeping everything neat and clean
• Stock inventory (including but not limited to groceries, fountain, and coffee areas)
• Operation of espresso machine in accordance with rules and procedures
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area
• Any other duties as directed by management
