About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Retail Manager and Food Service Supervisors, the cafeteria attendant responsibilities include preparing and serving foods in the cafe, cleaning and stocking cafe stations, maintaining cleanliness of the cafe and serving areas, and serving as a cashier as assigned/needed. The attendant will understand all essential positions of the cafeteria/retail area and be able to complete tasks as needed without assistance. This role practices safe food handling and HACCP guidelines and provides excellent customer service to all cafe patrons. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 0 < 1 year of work experience
  • NA (Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations)

Responsibilities

  • Preps, sets-up, serves and maintains assigned cafe station: Cashier, Chef table, Salad bar, Deli, Grill or Entree line.
  • Follows closing procedures for assigned station.
  • Follows all recipes, retail guidelines and portioning guidelines for assigned station.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work area according to established procedures.
  • Follows cleaning schedules or assignments and practices clean as you go guidelines.
  • Sweeps and mops floors and removes garbage as needed.
  • Follows quality and safety controls according to HACCP guidelines.
  • Replenishes food and supplies to cafe, or catering events, if needed.
  • Completes all temperature logs and HACCP logs.
  • Provides excellent customer service through friendly, respectful and helpful interactions with all customers and resolves customer complaints or concerns with the assistance of the Retail Manager or Food Services Supervisor.
  • When assigned as cashier, follows all cash register and money handling rules and guidelines.
  • Maintains cash balance for register with no or minimal discrepancies.
  • Assists others as necessary and asks for help when needed.
  • Participates in daily huddles and assists management, as appropriate, in performing tasks conducive to efficient and effective operation of the department.
  • Effectively communicates with co-workers for successful completion of duties.
  • Checks out with manager or supervisor before leaving for breaks and end of shift.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
  • Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area.
