About The Position

The Beacon Project is seeking a Cafe Assistant to greet and engage teens, maintain a positive and welcoming attitude, and assist with light food and drink preparation. This role also involves light computer work, filing, maintaining a clean and inviting space, logging and organizing donations, and packing food boxes. The Cafe Assistant will work with and around minors/teens, requiring discretion and adherence to a strict privacy policy. This position is not benefits-eligible and has a target salary range of $12.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills
• Organized, friendly, and have a positive attitude
• Discretion required due to working with minors/teens
• Must sign a confidentiality agreement
• Familiar with office equipment
• Must wear closed-toed shoes at all times
• Torso must be covered
• Avoid clothing that is overly revealing or has offensive patterns or slogans

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual - Spanish preference

Responsibilities

• Greeting and engaging teens
• Maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude
• Light food and drink preparation (microwave, airfryer)
• Light computer work and filing
• Assisting Beacon Coordinator, Board, and Team Members
• Maintain a clean and inviting space (sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, cleaning the bathroom)
• Logging, storing, and organizing donations, including working with the online inventory system
• Packing food boxes, breaking down boxes
• Lifting heavy boxes (30 pounds)
