About The Position

Altea is an integrated fitness and wellness destination where the café is a genuine part of the member experience. The Café Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the café runs smoothly, especially when the Food & Beverage Supervisor is not present. This role involves serving, leading, and maintaining high standards for the café operations. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, brings energy to the team, and finds satisfaction in a well-functioning service.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a café, food service, or hospitality role, with some experience leading or supporting a team.
  • Comfortable preparing and serving menu items accurately and at pace in a high traffic service environment.
  • Strong communicator who gives clear direction and handles member interactions with warmth and professionalism.
  • Reliable, punctual, and takes genuine ownership of the quality of the shift.
  • Available for a mix of early morning, daytime, evening, and weekend shifts as required.
  • Valid Food Handler Certification required prior to start date.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C, maintained annually.
  • Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team on shift by setting the pace, assigning tasks, checking work, and providing feedback.
  • Ensure every item is prepared and delivered to the Altea standard, maintaining quality regardless of busyness.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, stock levels, and presentation of the counter throughout the shift.
  • Support and develop Café Associates by providing clear direction, real-time feedback, and demonstrating excellent service.
  • Communicate and flag inventory levels, equipment concerns, and member feedback to the Food & Beverage Supervisor.
