About The Position

Dandelion Chocolate is seeking a Full-time Café and Retail Associate for their Ferry Building shop. This role involves providing excellent service for drinks and pastries, learning about the chocolate-making process from bean to bar, and becoming an expert on Dandelion Chocolate's products. The associate will also be trained in coffee preparation with Ritual Coffee Roasters. Responsibilities include preparing beverages, ensuring a high-quality guest experience, maintaining the retail space, and contributing to operational improvements. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, eager to learn, and possesses strong customer service skills.

Requirements

Availability Sunday-Thursday.
Ability to develop a quick rapport with customers by detailing our chocolate making process and why you relate to it, inspiring guests to learn more about chocolate!
Proven ability to work well within a team environment.
1-2 years of retail or customer-facing work experience in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent spoken English is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience making espresso drinks is a huge plus!
Additional language skills are a plus as we frequently host guests from all over the world!

Responsibilities

Create hot chocolate drinks and espresso drinks with our manual machine and brew coffee with a consistent level of excellence.
Know allergen information and be able to answer questions about our chocolate, pastries, and drinks with ease.
Make recommendations for pairing chocolate with espresso drinks based upon your chocolate knowledge and experience.
Provide guests with an amazing drink and pastry experience, being timely and dressing professionally.
Develop long-standing relationships with visitors.
Identify ways to improve operating procedures, checklists, and documentation.
Be a positive, team-oriented player who brings the team up even when the line is out the door.
Other tasks as necessary
