About The Position

Roush is seeking a mechanical engineering student to intern with their CAE group for the summer of 2023 term. This is a broad role offering the opportunity to work on a variety of engineering programs within the CAE group. The intern will collaborate closely with a team of engineers to analyze various structures using analytical and finite element methods. The role involves using analysis software to create and analyze finite element models, supporting industries such as automotive, theme park entertainment, and aerospace. This is a 40-hour-per-week paid internship position located in Livonia, MI.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
  • Available to work 40 hours per week Monday-Friday
  • Minimum sophomore standing at a college or university
  • Strong coursework in Solid Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, and Numerical Methods
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong desire to learn to apply analytical techniques to mechanical engineering problems
  • Willingness and desire to get hands-on experience

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
  • Prior internship experience in mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of machine learning / artificial intelligence applications in engineering
  • Experience using CAE software (Nastran, Abaqus, ANSYS)
  • Mechanical project team experience (Formula SAE / Baja / EV / Entertainment Industry)
