About The Position

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a CAE Engineer II to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. In this role you will be responsible for the development of marine propellers and application of advanced analysis techniques to design of marine products. Evaluation of existing products and development of new products from proof of concept through production.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering.
3+ years of experience designing consumer or industrial products.
Proven experience in cross-functional teams.
Proven experience applying FEA to product development.
Highly Skilled with 3D CAD tools like Solidworks, NX, CAESES, etc.
Programming in Matlab, C/C++, Python, etc.
Willingness to travel to Yamaha Motor Japan, suppliers, and testing sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

Master’s or PhD preferred.
3+ years of experience in marine industry product design preferred.
experience with NX NASTRAN/STAR-CCM+ preferred.
Experience or project work using formal optimization techniques preferred.
Experience with 1-way and 2-way coupled CFD/FEA preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop marine propellers for outboard engines and other marine products through analysis of hydrodynamics, structural mechanics, and manufacturability.
Coordination and planning of on-water testing and evaluation from proof of concept through production.
Develop and implement advanced CAE processes for design of marine products.
FEA analysis to support product development on cross-functional teams.
Learn established development processes and assist with continuous process improvement to improve efficiency.
