About The Position

The CAE Engineering Intern supports the Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) team in analyzing automotive components using 2D and 3D finite element analysis (FEA). This role focuses on predicting product performance, validating simulation results against physical testing, and contributing to product development efforts. The intern will collaborate with Product Development Engineers, CAD Designers, and the CAE team while gaining hands-on experience in simulation-driven engineering.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred)
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments is a plus
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and mechanical aptitude
  • Basic understanding of FEA concepts through coursework or prior experience
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX/UG)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information
  • Ability to ask questions, seek clarification, and effectively collaborate in a team environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and take initiative

Responsibilities

  • Perform 2D and 3D FEA on existing and newly developed EPDM and TPE components under the guidance of the CAE team
  • Conduct correlation studies by comparing FEA predictions to physical test data of production parts and recommend improvements to enhance model accuracy
  • Apply established engineering procedures and standard practices to solve routine technical problems
  • Support small-to-moderate projects as an active team member, completing assigned deliverables on time
  • Prepare and communicate FEA results to internal stakeholders following CAE team review
  • Assist with minor design modifications to improve component performance and meet customer specifications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, CAD, and CAE teams
