About The Position

Tessera is seeking a hardworking and talented CADD Operator III with a can-do attitude. This role involves planning, layout, drawing, and revising engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, notes, and discussions with engineers, and standard data. The operator will utilize computer-aided design equipment and/or manual tools, complete layout drawings, and may develop complete major layouts. Responsibilities include preparing production detail drawings, contributing design modifications, and preparing CADD drawings for construction from sketches and information provided by Architects and Engineers. The role also involves creating custom maps using GIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Adobe Pro, and specialized software to support installation units and tenants. Some site verification and surveying may be required. The operator will scan and prepare completed drawings for electronic transfer and archiving, assist customers with drawing copies, and maintain drawing vault files. Generating “as-built” drawings and associated CADD files, and coordinating with Architects, Engineers, and Designers to verify work product correctness are also key duties.

Requirements

5-8 progressively responsible CADD drafting experience required
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS applications, and Microsoft Office.
Strong understanding of engineering drafting standards and construction documentation.
Ability to independently interpret design concepts and create complete drawing packages.
Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and customers.
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in CADD, Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, GIS, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized vocational, technical, or other formal training may be substituted in part for experience.

Responsibilities

Plans, layout, draw, revises part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, notes, and discussions with engineers, and standard data.
Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or manual tools.
Completes layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices; or may develop complete major layouts of engineering drawings.
Prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
Prepares CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting) drawings for construction from sketches and information provided by Architects and Engineers.
Creates custom maps using GIS, current versions of MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Adobe Pro, and specialized software for support of installation units and tenants including utilities, services, locations and various other data that is required by the customer.
Some site verification and surveying may be required to assist engineers in measurements and verification of existing conditions prior to and during the design process.
Scans and prepare completed drawings for electronic transfer and archiving current versions.
Assist customers in obtaining copies of archived drawings, both electronic and hardcopy.
Maintains drawing vault files.
Generates “as-built” drawings and associated CADD files based on Contractor sketches as required.
Coordinates with Architects, Engineers, and Designers to verify correctness of work product prior to distribution to Customers for Quality Control.
