About The Position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. ECI is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in Boise, ID as a transmission drafter. Work includes drawings of general arrangements, transmission structures, survey, phasing diagrams. site plans, facility layouts, electrical schematics, foundation designs, etc.

Requirements

• College degree in an acceptable curriculum, two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design, or a minimum of two years concentrated on the job experience in computer-sided drafting/design field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and possess a strong computer aptitude in a Windows environment
• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proven excellent level of interpersonal skills
• Ability to work individually and on a team.
• Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work with confidential information.
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Occasional travel/driving will be required.
• Successful applicants are subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.

• MicroStation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performing drafting work manually or by using a computer requiring knowledge and skills in drafting methods, procedures and techniques.
• Using a recognized system of symbols, legends, shadings, lines and layering in accordance with ECI Drafting Standards.
• Preparing as-built drawings from red-line copies.
• Preparing error-free revisions of preexisting CADD files.
• Performing a variety of assignments which may include drawing reproduction, handling material supplies and
