About The Position

Weston & Sampson is seeking a CADD designer to support highly skilled engineering projects. This position will be in our Conway, SC office location. The role involves preparing detailed civil and treatment plant design drawings for water and wastewater projects, working closely with engineers, project managers, and surveyors to create accurate construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant software. The designer will produce various types of drawings including site layout, grading, utility, erosion control, drainage plans, profiles, earthwork, and structural drawings. Additionally, the position assists in preparing construction documents, exhibits, and design reports, and interprets local zoning and engineering codes/regulations into designs. The role requires coordination with engineering and survey teams, reviewing and updating redlines, preparing permit applications, and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Strong skill set both with basic AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to work in our Conway, SC office

Nice To Haves

  • Background in water and wastewater design preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience preferred but not required.
  • Completion of a CADD training/education program is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Software Suite preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed civil and treatment plant design drawings for water and wastewater projects.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and surveyors to create accurate and timely construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant software.
  • Produce site layout, grading, utility, erosion control, drainage plans, profiles, earthwork and structural drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction documents, exhibits, and design reports.
  • Interpret and apply local zoning and engineering codes/regulations into design.
  • Coordinate with engineers, survey teams, and project managers to meet deadlines.
  • Review and update redlines and markups from engineers.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications in support of the project development, representing our clients.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with multiple staff members in a team environment.
