About The Position

Behavioral Crossroads Recovery is looking for a full-time Counselor Intern to join their team! This paid position reports to the Regional Clinical Director, and is part of the treatment team, providing clinical services to clients. This position maintains accountability for the client as established through the funding source, and according to agency Policy. This position may conduct intakes and will conduct risk/needs assessments and develop service plans for all clients assigned to their caseload, and implement those plans subject to review by the Treatment Team and/or approval of the Regional Clinical Director. The successful candidate in this position must meet the following qualifications: CADC or working towards CADC. At least 1 year experience preferred; NJ SAMS experience also preferred. Additional job-related skills include: working with addictive behaviors; a basic understanding of human behavior; and utilizing group dynamics to address special needs populations. The successful candidate must possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to interact appropriately with clientele. Knowledge of social learning theory, cognitive-behavioral intervention and approaches is preferable. Skilled in assessment and evaluation, willingness to work flexible hours, and demonstrated competencies in training, group interaction, and mentoring. Basic computer skills.
